Professor Gail Henderson (CCGS/Social Medicine) was an instructor in an interdisciplinary genetics research course offered by John Hopkins University in collaboration with Peking University and Peking Union Medical College, May 22-26, in Beijing, China.  The course is part of a training program sponsored by the Fogarty International Center/NIH focused on the integration of medical, public health, biostatistics, and bioethics approaches in genetics.  Dr. Henderson offered three lectures entitled, "Ethical Issues in Human Subjects Research," "Why the Genome Institute Funds Ethics Research," and "Large Sample Gene-Environment Studies: What Are the Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues," and led two ethics discussion workshops.  There were over 100 participants, including graduate students and faculty from Beijing and other parts of China.
