August 19, 2006 CCGS/Genetics faculty member Chuck Perou, in collaboration with Duke researcher Joe Nevins, received a $1 million four-year grant from the V Foundation to fund a research project for individualizing breast cancer treatment. The grant is awarded in honor of Jamie Valvano Howard, Jim Valvano's daughter, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2005. For more information, see V Foundation news article. |
