June 1, 2007 Wei Sun is a new assistant professor recruited jointly by Biostatistics, Genetics, and CCGS. He received his PhD in Statistics from UCLA in 2007, under the direction of Dr. Ker-Chau Li. Dr. Sun is actively working on methods for mapping expression Quantitative Trait Loci (eQTLs), applying likelihood methods to performance inference on transcription-factor activity as latent variables for these data. In addition, he has interests in Bayesian Networks, statistical genetics, cancer classification, and a measure of multivariate association known as Liquid Association. Dr. Sun’s faculty appointment will begin July 1, 2007. Additional information about his research can be found at his website along with his curriculum vita.
