CCGS faculty member David Threadgill was recently promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics. Threadgill began his research group in 1996 at Vanderbilt University where he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology. He moved his group to UNC in 2000, and has been tremendously productive in publishing research articles and garnering extramural funding. Threadgill has contributed significantly to the success of CCGS and the Department of Genetics, and is also an active member of many other organizations on campus including the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility, and Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease. In 2004, he received the Jefferson-Pilot Fellowship Award from the UNC School of Medicine in recognition of his promising scientific career.
