August 1, 2007 The University has officially approved Todd Vision's promotion to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Biology. Dr. Vision was recruited to UNC-Chapel Hill in 2001 from Cornell University where he was a postdoctoral fellow and visiting scientist. His current research program focuses on genome evolution in flowering plants and on computational approaches for dissecting the architecture of complex traits. Dr. Vision has been an active member of CCGS over the past six years, participating in several research and training initiatives related to bioinformatics and computational biology. Since 2006 Dr. Vision has also taken on a leadership role in the NSF-funded National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent) as Associate Director of Informatics. Congratulations Todd! |
