*Please note that overnight accomodations will be provided for students traveling long distances. Rooms are available on a first come first serve basis for those students who select the overnight accomodations box on the registration form. Transportation to and from Chapel Hill is not provided.

Thursday, September 14

Dinner and Welcome with Graduate Students and NHGRI Representatives

Location: TBD
Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Participants: registered undergraduate students only

Join science graduate and medical students for an interactive dinner to discuss academic programs and career options in science and medicine. After dinner, Carla Easter, Milton English and Sarah Harding from NHGRI will lead a program about opportunities at NHGR and careers in science.

Friday, September 15

Lab Tours led by UNC Graduate Students

Location: meet in 1st floor lobby of MBRB
Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Participants: registered undergraduate students only

UNC graduate students will lead lab tours through the medical biomolecular research building. Learn about the latest technology and see where graduate students and scientists perform their research.

Afternoon Talk with Francis Collins

Location: MBRB Small Auditorium (Main level)
Time: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Participants: registered undergraduate students only

Join Francis Collins as he discusses the Future of Enomic Science. There will be time at the end for disucussion and questions. Space is limited.

Expert Panel Reception

Location: Lineburger Cancer Center, Plaza Room
Time: 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Participants: graduate students, post-docs and undergraduates

Come mingle with NHGRI staff and scientists as well as Debra Harry and Dena Davis.
