Arlene Davis

Arlene Davis is an attorney and faculty member of the Dept of Social Medicine.  Her academic interests focus on medical and research ethics.  She serves as an investigator on several NIH research ethics grants that examine issues relevant to enrollment in early phase clinical trials and to the creation and dissemination of genetic information, especially those concerning screening and biobanking.  In other areas of her work, she has just finished a 10 year legal project examining the legal issues facing pregnant and parenting teenagers in North Carolina.  She also teaches in the first year curriculum of the UNC Medical School and serves as an IRB and hospital ethics committee member.
